IBIS SYDNEY WORLD SQUARE SUSTAINABILITY

Our Sustainability Journey

At ibis Sydney World Square, we’re committed to doing our part for a better world. We’ve made meaningful progress, and we know there’s still more to do. Sustainability is a journey we’re on together—with our team, our guests, and our community—and we welcome your support as we continue to improve.

What we’re doing now

We’ve already introduced several practical steps to reduce our environmental impact:

  • Filtered water refill station in the hotel lobby, so you can top up your own bottle and cut down on single‑use plastic water bottles.
  • Power‑saving mode on all guest room electricity when rooms are vacant, helping to reduce unnecessary energy use.
  • Single‑use plastics removed from all guest room consumables and the breakfast buffet, including items such as toiletries and buffet packaging where possible.

What’s next

We’re actively working on the next phase of our sustainability plan:

  • In‑room waste sorting bins to help separate general waste and recycling, making it easier for everyone to do the right thing.
  • Ongoing reduction in single‑use plastics across our operations, as we identify new opportunities to replace or remove items without compromising guest comfort or safety.

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far, and we’re realistic that this is a work in progress. Every small step counts, and with your help—by refilling your water bottle, using the bins provided, and sharing your ideas—we can keep moving towards a more sustainable future.

We look forward to welcoming you and continuing this journey together.
